Competition Update: Welsh successes at Black Rock Surf Competition

Welsh paddlers made the journey to the Black Rock Surf Competition, with plenty of trophies collected. 

Bethan Moore came 1st in Ladies IC in a thrilling and close final with Beth and Emma Fishleigh battling it out. Beth also came away 1st in Ladies Over 40 HP and 3rd place in Ladies HP. Great achievement ! 

Bethan only started kayaking in 2017, and entered her first competition in 2018 Bethan commented on her success  “I hope my success inspires other women to take up surf kayaking. A big thank you to all who have helped me to achieve this success - you know who you are.”

Welsh Junior Iwan Brew also had an outstanding competition, coming home with 2nd place in both Junior HP and IC - Well done Iwan !

It was a new experience for Lee Griffiths entering his first Masters HP competition in a closed cockpit kayak transferring from waveski, an impressive 10th place was gained in a really competitive class. Da Iawn Lee !
